Andrew Furr

Andrew Furr is the Financial Analyst for the College of Health and Human Services Department of Social Work. He has over a decade of experience serving in various finance roles within higher education operations at both two-year and four-year institutions, including Northern Virginia Community College and George Mason University.

In his role as the Financial Analyst, Andrew supports the College’s financial operations by overseeing the day-to-day expenditure activities across the Social Work Department, including external/indirect and GMU Foundation funds. He assists with expenditure budgeting, position control, compliance, accounting and purchasing, non-personnel coordination, and creating necessary processes and procedures to ensure efficient operations. Andrew enjoys his role with the Social Work Department working towards maximizing their financial potential while providing exceptional service to faculty and student.

Prior to this role, Andrew served in local government, focusing on budget, procurement, and special projects for Fauquier County. He has also served as the Budget and Office Manager for the Administrative Office at the George Mason University Arlington Campus. In this role, he managed the office budget, procurement, daily operations, and the invoicing of event rentals. Andrew has also served as the Operations Coordinator for the Loudoun Campus of Northern Virginia Community College where he assisted with managing the campus budget, campus capital projects, maximizing building space usage, and campus facility rentals.
