Biography
Dayton Moore received his undergraduate physical education degree from Mason in 1989. He played for Mason’s baseball team while an undergraduate student, but transitioned to become an assistant coach in 1990. Moore went on to earn his master's in athletic administration (now sport management) from Mason in 1992, and continued his coaching till 1994.
Moore transitioned to the world of professional baseball when he was hired by the Atlanta Braves. With them, he worked in the scouting department, then later transitioned to baseball operations. In 2006, Moore was hired by the Kansas City Royals to fill the position of general Manager. He led the team to their 2014 American League championship and 2015 World Series titles. In 2022, Moore was promoted to President of Baseball Operations.
