Biography

Kathleen is a graduate from Long Island University and Columbia University, Teacher’s College in New York. She was employed at St. Luke-Roosevelt Hospital in New York, held various positions from staff nurse to nursing administration as System Coordinator/Patient Classification. She is certified as a nurse executive by the American Nurse Association since 1992, and an item writer for their certification examination.  In 1998 she was funded to develop an Interactive Computerized Instructional Module “Vitals Sign” for the Fundamentals nursing course. From 2006 to 2009, she was involved with the Workforce Diversity Program for mentoring disadvantaged students in nursing. In addition, Kathy was a National League of Nursing Spanish translator in 2010 for the NCLEX examination. In 2015 she coauthored a qualitative study Assessing QSEN Patient Centered Care through Student Journaling.
