Biography

Mike Horton is an adjunct professor who has been teaching in the Business and Engineering schools at George Mason since 2018. During the day, Mike leads a human resources data analytics team at the Federal Aviation Administration.

Prior to that, Mike served for 28 years as a senior data scientist at the Treasury Department and the Department of Labor, and in the private sector for Merrill Lynch, Prudential, Fidelity, and Dun & Bradstreet. Following his graduation from West Point, Mike served 6 years as an Infantry and Aviation officer.

Mike is also an advocate for social justice. He hosts the Science of Racism podcast that provides tools individuals can use in their personal fight against racism by recognizing how humans naturally create an “us” versus “them” world, and how those inclinations often result in unjust individual and institutional behavior and policies.
