Tech Talent Investment Program (TTIP)

A new donation from Deltek, the leading global provider of enterprise software and information solutions for project-based businesses, is establishing the Deltek Scholars Program, which will provide scholarship support for graduate students pursuing software engineering.

In partnership with the Commonwealth of Virginia’s Tech Talent initiative and in anticipation of Amazon HQ2’s arrival, George Mason University is expanding its programs in computer science and related fields by a third at the undergraduate level and threefold at the graduate level.

George Mason University boosts the Washington, D.C., metropolitan region economy by supplying an educated, skilled, and multifaceted workforce, by partnering with key employers, and through the Mason-based Virginia Small Business Development Center.

Andre Marshall joins Mason as its new vice president for research, innovation and economic development and president of the George Mason University Research Foundation on July 1.

Last fall, faculty teams were invited to submit proposals describing thematic hiring opportunities. The decision committee evaluated 14 proposals for innovation and timeliness, alignment with Mason strengths, recruiting plans and hiring strategies.

George Mason University will receive $235 million from the state as part of the Tech Talent Investment Program (TTIP) announced Thursday by Gov. Ralph Northam. The funding will support Mason’s role as a producer of graduates in high-demand fields and spur the expansion of the Arlington Campus.
