Students pursuing an MS in management through Mason’s School of Business usually spend four months getting work experience through internships at local companies. This year, however, due to the coronavirus pandemic, administrators had to think creatively. So instead, they asked local businesses what they thought of hiring students to do remote “researchships.”

As we turn our attention to the Fall Semester, we must all continue to do our part and work together to keep Mason safe. This starts with new policies for COVID-19 vaccination, testing and masking.

The first floor of Vernon Smith Hall has been converted into an innovation pilot space, foreshadowing work that will be done in Mason’s new Arlington Campus building.

Even though a ceasefire came into effect on May 21 for the conflict in Israel and Palestine, the violence could start again, said George Mason distinguished visiting professor and former U.S. ambassador Richard Kauzlarich.

“What makes the current situation different from previous cycles of violence is that this one involved communal violence between Israel’s Jewish and Arab citizens,” Kauzlarich said. “The total lack of apparent leadership from both the Israeli and Palestinian sides is also a factor.”

Mason Police, along with regional police and firefighter medics, will conduct a training exercise at Dominion Hall on the Fairfax Campus this Friday, May 21 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
